My version of Pottery Barn's wooden candle sticks..

Oh yes, another product I wanted oh so bad.. but decided to turn another trash to treasure. I loved these beautiful Pottery Barn Acanthus pillar holders:

I love the distressed wood look.
Notice the distressed wood mirror???
Looks a little like the distressed mirror I created:)
Now on to my distressed candle project that I did for less than $9.00!

So Pottery Barn's beautiful candle holder collection costs a total of $107!
My uncle actually gave me this set of candle holders for free. I had a hard time finding a place for them where they would match my decor. I was going to give them to Salvation Army (Sorry, Uncle William:/).
So here we go.. I started off with some latex wall paint in ivory that I already had in a pint size from Lowe's. I purchased it previously for around $9.00.
Step 1: Paint the candle holders entirely in latex wall paint of your choosing x2 coats.
Allow the candle holders to completely dry prior to moving on to step 3.
Step 3: I then sanded the candle holders with my power sander on areas that would obtain normal wear and tear. After sanding, I then wiped the candle holders clean with water and paper towel.

Here is the final product:

What is even more exciting, is that they are actually metal.. and Lance totally thought they were wood! I fooled him:)
Now, I know these candle holders do not look like the Pottery Barn version.. but they are pretty similar and pretty much.. free:) Anyone can revive an old pair of candle holders with this easy 3 step project!

Hope you all have a wonderful day, and I can not wait to post pics from mine and Monica Prechter's Flowood flea market finds!
Much love and God Bless:)
